Korean Culture and Information Service to host various Korean culture festivals in Thailand under ‘Korean Culture Scene’
As a part of ‘Korean Culture Scene’ hosted by the Korean Culture and Information Service under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korean Culture Centers from 6 countries including Belgium, Vietnam and the UK, a variety of Korean culture festivals are being held in Thailand.
The Korean Culture Center Thailand launched the ‘2022 Korean Culture Week’ on 29 September. So far, there have been a competition for global Hanbok models, an Asia Model Festival, a K-Pop Cover Dance Festival, an event to learn the Communal Buddhist Meal Service with the Monk, Jeong-Kwan, a Drone Show and Taekwondo contest. All the events aim to enhance relations between South Korea and Thailand.
Especially on 2 October, the 2022 Korea Thailand Festival called ‘An-nyeong Thailand, Sawatdee Korea’ was co-hosted with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports in Thailand. The festival incorporated a Hanbok fashion show, a special performance, a ceremony to present Hanbok and scholarship to descendants of Korean war veterans and a cross-cultural collaboration called ‘Meet the world, Center of the world’. The forementioned events recieved the rave reviews from the audience.
The K-breaking & traditional Korean music performance was conducted jointly by B-boying team ‘MB Crew’ and the traditional Korean music performance group, Jeong Ga Ak Hoe for the first time in Thailand. And this performance will continue in Vietnam, Hong Kong, the UK and Belgium where Korean Culture Scene is being held.
In addition, the Korean Culture Scene traveling exhibition is going to take place. The 2022 Korean culture exhibition titled ‘K-Pop, Now Here’ will be hosted from 31 October to 4 November in the Korean Culture Center in Thailand.
Furthermore, visitors have enjoyed ‘K-Webtoon Exhibition’ from 10 October. It offers a variety of contents such as a photo booth, various video contents, events for visitors and photo zones where a visitor can take photos in the scenes of webtoons including ‘One day, my favorite K-pop star has disapeared’ created by the Korean Cultural Center Thailand, ‘Business Proposal’ and ‘Solo Leveling’. This exhibition is being held in the ‘Exhibition Room’ on the first floor of the Korean Cultural Center Thailand until 31 January next year.
